These look good indeed and so I might get some but ? why does everyone always have to start British Colonial ranges off with the Zulu war? There are loads of such ranges about some just launched. ok their in metal so you should walk all over them. however nobody to my knowledge has a 2nd Afghan war range out or 1880's NWF. So while I might buy a few boxes of these to go with my Perry Twins (pardon the name drop) Naval Brigade I won't be bothering with Zulu's but give me Pathans and Gurkhas and other Indian army troops and Bengal lancers and mountain guns and my business is yours. Great- about time plastics took off in the wargames world, twil surely make 28mm affordable to most people- meaning when a change in era happens you wont have to sell up to appease the other half and to fund the next project. Im amazed it didnt happen years ago- look at GW- theyve been laughing their preverbials off in the plastics market for years. Happy days-now add to the range, thanks

Do you think if painted khaki these chaps could be used for Sudan/NW Frontier as well, or are some details off in regards to the uniforms?

Ben - there are some differences between the two. The Sudan had a pugaree around the helmet and no gaiters on the pants. Cut of the jacket is slightly different. You _could_ use some putty to "fix" the pants/helmet, but really unless you are a real stickler then just paint them tan and be done with it...

So very very nice. I am counting my pennies to buy a couple boxes. I plan to use them for victorian pulp adventures.

Thanks, Bromhead, for your comment as I was abobut to ask the same thing! The British adventures in Zululand are not as much interesting to me as their experiences with the Madhists at Omdurman in 1898. This is most likely due to the fact that I prefer the film "Khartoum" to "Zulu" or "Zulu Dawn" although Peter O'Toole as Lord Chelmsford is great. I imagine that just painting them khaki will suffice for most purposes. Perhaps I should just go with the flow and get an Osprey book on Rorkes Drift...

BEAUTIFUL FIGS! I have 100+ Black Tree Zulu’s, 50+ Brits, & 35 Boars… would like to see MORE Colonial Troops (like NNC, etc) that fought at Islandlawana!!! The COST is FANTASTIC!!! My son is a D&D Nut; he LOVES the Romans and has started moving to “THE DARK SIDE” of Historical Gaming!

Well my Zulu war Brits are trapped in UK Customs and Excise!! I'm bemused, can I just raise the ? did you fit them with real guns. You'd think with all the stuff going on in the world they'd have better things to do that persecute the poor wargamer.

Being a gamer with over 30 years invested in this wonderful hobby, I am delighted and pleasantly flanked by this new plastic/multi-part offering. At a quick glance, this strikes me as a bold, well thought out and creative solution to a very basic economic challenge. Looks to me like lemons into lemonade. Kudos! Just picked up a box at FLGS. Nice models that glue together well. Recommend your in-box pamphlet (futre ones) possibly include something on basing the minis. Something simple or a section on your website to discuss. Veterans know several options but new folks might wonder where/what those round disks are in the photographs.

Very nice - this has given me a bit of the proverbial kick up the pants to paint these up and wait with baited breath for some zulus - how many in a box - fawzends?

I was just wondering whether you were planning on making something of a "command sprue" for these guys; either creating something of a command squad in a box or giving the possibility of upgrading existing soldiers. If not, I think I may add it to the League!

These are great models. I really enjoy them. They have a great level of detail , which goes well with the low cost.

ANy chance you could do them not in kit form for the lazy people like me who just want to undercoat and go?

How do these match up to GW's Imperial Guard, in terms of scale? The look like they could be great Mordians with some mods. Anyone tried it?

Hey Todd I am thinking the same thing. Imperial Guard and these guys are both 28mm so they should match up well. I am ordering some of these swapping the guns with lasguns and off they go to fight.

Mordians! How Ironic. How about, say the Praetorian Guard? Do a Google search if the name doesn't ring a bell. They were out for a while a few years back and haven't been available since. But basicially the Praetorian Guard were converted Mordian Guard figures with pith helmets, the figures and the regiment being based on these very chaps of the 24th. Mordian Guard? bah! If you are using these for 40k do it properly! :D

Ooh, i can see these figures going nicely as allies for me Bloodaxe ork army! Praetorians, GW giveth and taketh away, amonth before i could place my order! T_T

I too will be ordering plenty of these to add to my existing Praetorians from GW. I was planning on slowly and expensively collecting more of them over time, but these will fit in great. The price is phenomenal! If you guys did some Russian-looking troops that could stand in as the old Valhallans I would buy a load of those too.

Overall, a very good set of figs, they look brilliant in sqaure and doble line formation. the only problems are that the arms are really fiddly, and it would be easier if the heads had helmets already, an officer and standard bearer would have been nice as well.

Easily Convertible for an alternative space based guardsman unit - with weapon swaps.

Awesome models! I started to build Imperial Guard army from those, just a little conversion to weapons and special weapons from my bitz box.. =)

I too would be interested in the size comparison between these and GW Imperial Guard figures. If I got these, I'd push the anachronism further and put WW1 heads/helmets on them and give them similar era backpacks. Hey its space fantasy isn't it? 8>D

WOW they have made some great miniatures. Just a couple of days after ordering them my colonials arrived! They will be great to use in both 40k and my Victorian Sci-Fi games, and to top it off they sent me a couple of Zulu sprues for free to try out. I can see myself purchasing many more Colonial and Zulu's from Wargames Factory. Thanks guys!

The price on these guys are EXCELLENT. I'm gonna use them as alternate Imperial Guard soldiers :D Are you guys at WGF planning on making some Crusader age models? I haven't found many decent models in that genre at other stores.

Plese, please, please do some Calvary and machine gun/artillery crews for these guys. Also some Indian/Seik troops would be awesome ... elephants ... sigh. You guys really should do that. Already I love what your doing ... affordable plastic historicals in reasonable scale (28 MM ROCKS btw ... to hell with 25 MM)!! Also keep doing zombie sci-fi based stuff ... so many GW (and other system) fans out there ... you'll be sure to do well!

I picked up a box of these a week or so ago from a retailer to convert to GW Praetorian Guard. They're a bit smaller than GW, naturally, since they're not "Heroic" scale. But with about about two minutes on each mini cutting a bit of plastic rod for a focusing lens end and a battery pack and shaving the end of the barrel off to fit the "lens" on they've made great Praetorians. I'll definitely be ordering some more, at least 5-6 boxes more to fill out the 74th Praetorian Guard.

Not bad looking models, got some the other day and started assembling today. my only complaint is that to do firing positions the poor men have to bend their arms in some very uncomfortable firing positions. Overall not bad, next step primer then painting, ink, followed by drybrushing.... Hopefully they turn out well. Would be nice to have a command sprue...

This is good stuf, but I wonder you aint gonna make any french foreign legion in the same style (i.e. make a algerian set)?

Brilliant models i'm going to get loads and have some with the Khaki uniform of the 60th rifles. The foreign legion is a very good idea since it was all the same period it wouldn't need some other enemies to fight apart from customising the Zulus with more clothes.

Do these British packs come with officer figures?

Picked up a box of these wonderful figures to test on conversion to to GW style of play. I did not like the size difference but once you take a harder look they fit in nicely with a bit of shaving for conversion. Currently working on about 60 of these chaps to add to my guard army.

Yes... these figs. convert realy well to 40k preatorians. I have aprox. 50 completed to add to my army. Now if only you would do a command sprue (officer, standard bearer, sgt magor) it would be perfect.
