Factory Polls

Command Us!
We make figures for YOU! So it makes sense that we would make the figures that YOU actually want! Novel concept, eh? Here's the first of many polls for you to vote on what kinds of figure sets you'd like to see made here at Wargames Factory. We may have an occasional poll on "other" topics as well!

When you are finished with any of the Polls you can also click on the "View Results" link and leave a comment, suggest a poll, put this poll on your website or blog, or just check out where people have voted from! It's pretty neat stuff!

Tell us what you think!

Suggest a poll of your own!

Happy Opinionating!

How do you like your figures?

We've always found it curious that there seems to be a divide between those who use plastic (soft plastic 1/72) figures and those who use metal. With the recent "surge" in 28mm hard plastic wargames figures -- and based on many of the comments we have had and emails that have been sent from guys who had previously focused exclusively on 1/72 -- we were interested to see how people fall within these categories.

The poll is Multiple Choice -- so if you fall into more than one category you can choose them all.

What color plastic for Zulus?

We'll be releasing hard plastic Zulus to match up with our British line infantry set and were curious if people wanted them in a different color of plastic? We know that you need "farsands" of them for most games -- and the benefit of plastic is that you can actually AFFORD "farsands" of these lovely figures!! But painting them is obviously going to be a challenge! Would it make sense to have them in a dark brown plastic? Or would you rather we have the "standard" grey plastic? And you can actually make multiple votes on this poll -- so what do you think other people would want? Interested to know what you think!

Beyond Ancients and Medieval

As we start launching box sets to match with the Field of Glory army lists, we are beginning to think about other projects outside Ancients and Medievals. So we thought we'd ask you what you were interested in:

Help us choose 2 armies for Immortal Fire!

Work is well under way for the Field of Glory army books: Rise of Rome and Storm of Arrows (and we've jumped ahead to fill in some other lines as well!) but we would like to get your opinions on which two armies to create in hard plastic for the Immortal Fire book. We were only able to list some of the 30 armies in the book. Please choose two below!

The Great 28mm Debate in Which We Ask, "What is 28mm?"

At the risk of having someone's head explode...this is a topic that holds a lot of interest for us. I actually emailed Alan Perry of Perry Miniatures (producers of the excellent new American Civil War 28mm figures in hard plastic) about this very subject this afternoon to learn his opinion.

When we set out to make hard plastic historical figures, we had to decide on a size and "scale" for the figures. Model soldiers fall into several different varieties with the main two being -- a chunkier, character-full style as done by Games Workshop, Foundry Miniatures, Mark Copplestone of Copplestone Castings, Mark Sims of Crusader Miniatures, Mike Owen of Artizan Designs, and many others -- and the more proportional, "true to life" style done by the Perrys (above), Eureka Miniatures, eBob, and more (please feel free to post company names/links that I haven't mentioned on the comments section below).

There is also a great deal of debate not just over the 'style' of a 28mm figure -- but over the actual size of one. So we ask -- What does 28mm mean to you? (No biting please!)

Following up on all this horse talk...

Miniature companies can choose to sculpt the saddles directly onto the backs of the horses -- or have them attached to the legs of the riders. Which do you prefer?

Frivolous Poll Warning!
This one's just for fun...and because we're curious. We know what WE think, but we're very interested in what YOU think!

So here it is -- if you're buying a box of 12 cavalry figures -- how many unique horse sculpts would you EXPECT (or at least HOPE) to be in the box?

There's a great deal of excitement out there for our first sets of Romans and Celts that complement the first Field of Glory™ Rise of Rome army book. But there are four NEW army books coming out over the next few months as well. We've listed some "hypothetical" matched pair armies for each of these books -- and we're interested to hear which army you are MOST excited for!
