Numidians

  • $19.95
The Numidians were the fearsome enemies and allies of Ancient Rome sending bowmen, slingers, javelinmen, and swordmen out from their North African kingdom.

This multi-part hard plastic 28mm figure set gives you 14 sprues - 7 body/arm sprues and 7 head/equipment sprues to create 28 warriors.

This set is especially useful as a base for conversion to dozens of different troop types for the Ancient through Medieval periods.

They look nice, but weren't Numidians black? More African than Arab.

I got a couple of the advance order sprues. These guys not only make great light infantry; for those of you planning a 'Junta' style revolt in Rome game, the bare-headed Numidians make great civilians as well. Great detailing and a financial good buy as well.

Ray - that's a common misconception. Nubians were black African, Numidians were north African (ancestors of modern Berbers and other desert people). WF have got this one right where many actually don't!

I'm glad you guys brought in the Phoenician ancestry and influences on the Numidians - I take it they can be used for Hannibal's Carthaginian army as well? Now you just need to produce plastic war elephants and Numidian cavalry.

once again awesome!

I like how versatile these are, they could fit into almost any ancient army! I plan on using mine as Shemites for a home-brewed Conan/Hyborian age campaign!

I think they may also might be used as Ibero-celts (ancient spanish celts)

They are splendid! I consider buying a box or two once the Vikings are out, both to bolster my Ancients collection and to spice up my Lord of the Rings fantasy ranges with some 2nd/3rd Age Umbarean light Infantry and some amazing Northmen or First Age humans (the Viking models). WF's models are outstanding in their versatility.

Indeed, these are excellent models, with innumerable potential uses. I reckon I can use at least one box in my Spartan army as light troops, and who knows how many more could be useful... Great job guys!

Very nice. I'm thinking that with a bit of work, these guys might work as greek hoplites.

any chance you could list exactly which sprues are in the pack? am wanting to know if i need to buy extra weapons! (FYI i need, 12x bowmen, 8x slingers, 8x javelinmen. am thinking you probably have these covered...)
curious onlooker commented on 02-Oct-2009 04:04 PM5 out of 5 stars
i really shouldn't read these things at 3am!! i see you have 7 arms/weapons sprues, each with 2 bows, meaning more than enough archers!
Tony @ Wargames Factory commented on 02-Oct-2009 04:09 PM5 out of 5 stars
Hi curious onlooker - good question! I added the photos of the two sprues that make up this set. There are 7 of each in the pack. You can get the following: Up to 14 archers Up to 28 swordmen Up to 28 javelinmen Up to 28 slingers Based on your wish list above - you're all set with one pack!

Are there enough swords and shields included so that all 28 Troopers can be equipped with them, or do some HALF to take spears?
Steve commented on 15-Oct-2009 05:11 PM5 out of 5 stars
Yes, you can build 28 spearmen OR swordmen. You can build 14 archers. 28 slingers.

I second the request for Numidian Cavalry! Lots needed for any Roman or Numidian army!
Notmatthew commented on 01-Jun-2010 02:14 PM5 out of 5 stars
I love these things! I'm using them for my Carthage force for WAB. I would LOVE to give you more of my money but first you have to create a set of numidian horsemen legs and small hide bucklers so I can use these bodies/heads/arms and your horse sprue on some Numidian Cav!
alex commented on 15-Jun-2010 11:46 PM5 out of 5 stars
WOW i could use them as peltasts for my WAB greek army! how many bows can you make? (creten archers) or javalins (peltasts)
